On June 3, 2026, we welcomed clients and colleagues to our Summer 2026 Client Seminar for an afternoon focused on the issues shaping employment law right now, capped off by a happy hour next door.

The headline presentation, "The War on DEI," was led by Scott Brutocao. Over the past year and a half, the federal landscape around diversity, equity, and inclusion has shifted faster than almost any area of employment law. Scott walked the room through that evolution, from new executive orders and stepped-up enforcement at the Department of Justice and the EEOC, to recent court decisions and high-profile settlements, and unpacked what each development means for employers trying to stay compliant. The throughline was a practical one: the rules of the road are changing quickly, and the policies that felt safe a year ago deserve a fresh look.

From there, the afternoon opened up into the part our clients tell us they value most: a candid roundtable with the firm's partners, moderated by Susan Burton. Billed, with a wink, as "60 minutes (ish) of employment law updates," the panel moved through the developments most likely to land on an employer's desk this year and took live questions from the room. The format is deliberately conversational, the kind of frank back-and-forth that is hard to get from a newsletter or a webinar.

A roundtable discussion with the firm's partners.

That is the whole point of these seminars. Employment law does not sit still, and neither do the questions our clients are working through. Bringing everyone into the same room a couple of times a year is how we keep those conversations going, and how we make sure our clients are equipped for what is coming rather than reacting to it after the fact.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, to our presenters, and to the team who made the afternoon happen. We are already looking forward to the next one.

If your organization is weighing how recent developments affect your workplace policies, we would welcome the conversation.
